What is Truestance?
A posture-scan platform for movement instructors. You scan a client with a phone, and Truestance shows the offsets in their posture on screen, drawn on their body and on a 3D skeleton, so the two of you can talk about what you both see.
Who is it for?
Instructors who work with people's posture and movement: Pilates, Gyrotonic and yoga teachers, gym instructors and personal trainers.
How does a scan work?
Your client stands in front of an iPhone and turns once, pausing to face the front, each side and the back. A voice guides them, and it takes about half a minute. The scan is ready a few minutes later.
What does it show?
How level the shoulders, hips and knees are from the front and the back; how the head, trunk, hips and knees sit over the feet from the side; the curve of the back; and how all of these have changed between visits. You can turn the scan as a 3D skeleton and add your own notes. We are still adding to what it reads.
What is behind it?
A state-of-the-art human vision model that maps the body in every view: joints, outline and surface. It runs on your own computer, which is why a scan takes a few minutes and why nothing has to be uploaded.
How accurate is it?
We are measuring that against reference data now, and will publish the results before we quote any figure. What it already does is mark a change between visits only when it is larger than the small differences that appear every time a person stands.
What do I need?
An iPhone and a computer in your studio. We will confirm the details with you when you join the beta.
Where do my clients' scans go?
They stay on your own phone and computer. Nothing is uploaded to us. The privacy policy has the detail.
Is it for medical use?
No. Truestance is for fitness and wellness. It describes posture as a camera sees it, for coaching and for keeping track of progress. It does not diagnose or treat any condition.
When can I try it, and what will it cost?
