Privacy policy
Last updated 10 October 2026
Truestance is a posture-scan platform for movement instructors. This policy covers this website, the emails you send us, and the Truestance app and Truestance Studio during the beta. In short: your clients' scans stay on your own phone and computer, and we never receive them.
Who is responsible
Truestance is run by Samer Haddadin, Budapest, Hungary ("we"). We are the controller of the personal data described under "This website" and "When you write to us".
Contact: info@truestance.tech. Post: Samer Haddadin, 1117 Budapest, Hungary.
This website
The pages set no cookies, use no analytics, and load nothing from other companies: no fonts, scripts, maps or videos.
Like every web server, our hosting provider records each request: the IP address, the date and time, the page asked for, and how the browser describes itself. We use these records only to deliver the pages and to keep them secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The hosting provider keeps them for a short time under its own rules, from hours to a few days, and then deletes them; we keep no copy.
The hosting provider is Vercel Inc., in the United States, which handles these records for us.
When you write to us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write, such as the name of your studio and what you teach. We use it to answer you and, if you ask to join the beta, to arrange that. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before an agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, otherwise, our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
We keep the correspondence for as long as the conversation or your part in the beta lasts, and for up to two years after our last contact, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner. You do not have to give us any data, but without an email address we cannot reply.
Our mailbox is run by an email provider, which stores the messages for us.
The Truestance app and Truestance Studio
What is processed, and where
A scan produces a short video recording of a person, still images taken from it, the positions of landmarks on the body, posture readings worked out from them, and whatever the instructor types: a client's name, height and notes. The phone also records its own tilt during the recording.
All of this is made and kept on the instructor's own devices: the iPhone that records, and the computer in the studio that runs Truestance Studio. The recording travels from the phone to that one computer over the local network, and to nowhere else.
We receive none of it. The app and Truestance Studio send no recordings, images, readings, names, usage statistics, crash reports or identifiers to us or to anyone acting for us. There are no user accounts in the beta. We cannot see, restore or delete a studio's scans.
Who is responsible for clients' data
The instructor or studio that uses Truestance decides whom to scan and what the scans are used for, and holds them. Under data protection law that makes the instructor or studio the controller of its clients' data. Because none of that data reaches us, we do not process it on their behalf.
Images of a person's body and readings of their posture can reveal something about their health. An instructor should scan a person only with that person's clear and informed consent, keep the scans secure, and honour requests to see, correct or delete them. Truestance Studio includes a consent sheet to print, and deleting a scan in Truestance Studio removes its images, readings and notes.
How long things are kept on the devices
A recording stays on the phone until the computer has analysed it, and is then removed from the phone. The original video is deleted from the computer after 24 hours. Images, readings and notes stay until the instructor deletes them. The phone keeps a copy of scans so that they can be opened away from the studio; that copy is left out of iCloud and computer backups and can be removed in the app's settings.
What the app asks permission for
The camera, to record and to read the pairing code; the local network, to reach the studio's computer; and adding to the photo library, only if you choose to save an image.
The camera on the computer's screen
While the phone's camera screen is open, the paired computer can show what the camera sees. That picture is shown and not stored.
Keeping scans safe
The phone and the computer are paired with a code, and only a paired phone can send recordings. Anyone who can sign in to the computer can open the scans kept on it, so protect that computer as you would any other record about your clients.
If Truestance changes
Truestance is in beta and will grow. If a later version adds accounts, online storage, or anything else that sends personal data to us, this policy will be changed before that version is released, and its users will be told.
Who else receives data
Only the providers named above: the hosting provider, for the records of requests, and the email provider, for your messages. We do not sell personal data, share it for advertising, or build profiles with it. No decision about anyone is made by automated means.
Data outside the European Economic Area
Our hosting provider is based in the United States. It is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and transfers to it are also covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how it is used, object to its use, and receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to info@truestance.tech; we answer within one month.
If you are a client of a studio that uses Truestance, send your request to the studio. It holds your scans, and we do not.
Complaints
You can complain to the data protection authority where you live. In Hungary this is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH): 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11; postal address 1363 Budapest, Pf. 9; telephone +36 1 391 1400; ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu; naih.hu. You can also take the matter to court.
Children
Truestance is a tool for professionals and is not directed at children. An instructor who scans someone under 16 needs the consent of a parent or guardian.
Not a medical device
Truestance describes posture as a camera sees it, for coaching and for progress records. It does not diagnose or treat any condition.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change here and change the date at the top.
